Jamnagar, Gujarat – Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Director Akash Ambani has announced an ambitious plan to position Jamnagar as a global leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure within two years. The declaration came during the 25th-anniversary celebrations of Reliance’s first refinery in Jamnagar, a cornerstone of the company’s legacy.
Speaking at the event, Ambani expressed his vision for the city’s future. “The AI infrastructure we have started building in Jamnagar will not only make it a leader in AI but also place it among the top ranks globally,” he said.
The milestone celebration, attended by Ambani’s siblings Isha Ambani-Piramal and Anant Ambani, along with RIL employees and their families, underscored Jamnagar’s pivotal role in the company’s success.
As reported by News18, Akash Ambani emphasized Reliance’s commitment to innovation and hailed Jamnagar as the “jewel of the RIL family.” His sister, Isha Ambani-Piramal, also a director at RIL, reflected on the refinery’s evolution and the vision of their grandfather, Dhirubhai Ambani, while acknowledging the significant contributions of their father, Mukesh Ambani, in turning that vision into reality.
Since its inauguration on December 28, 1999, the Jamnagar refinery has emerged as one of the world’s most advanced facilities. It boasts state-of-the-art technologies, including a Fluidised Catalytic Cracker (FCC), Coker, Alkylation units, Paraxylene production, Polypropylene plants, a Refinery Off-Gas Cracker (ROGC), and Petcoke gasification systems.
With its latest venture into AI, Jamnagar is set to further solidify its standing as a critical asset in Reliance’s journey toward innovation and global leadership. The integration of cutting-edge AI infrastructure not only reinforces the city’s importance within RIL’s operations but also sets a precedent for India’s position in the global AI arena.
As Reliance marks a quarter-century of excellence at Jamnagar, Akash Ambani’s bold vision promises a transformative future that aligns with the company’s legacy of ambition and achievement.
