In the early hours of this Thursday, four fans of APR FC were injured in a car accident when they reached Nyabisindu on their way to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, where they were heading to support their team, which is preparing to face Azam FC in the CAF Champions League qualifiers.
The bus carrying the fans reportedly collided with a truck when it reached Nyagasambu. Four of the fans were seriously injured and were taken to Kanombe Hospital, where they are receiving medical care.
In a message posted by the team on X (formerly Twitter), it stated, “Our fans had an accident on their way to Tanzania in the early hours of this Thursday at Nyagasambu. Some were injured and are receiving medical care. We wish them a speedy recovery; may God ease their pain.”
The uninjured fans were provided with another vehicle to continue their journey after the one involved in the accident was severely damaged.
The first leg of the qualifying match between Azam FC and APR FC will take place this Sunday, August 17, 2024.
