The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella group of anti-terror factions, has claimed responsibility for a drone strike targeting a site in the Jordan Valley as part of its ongoing pro-Palestinian operations. The group announced the operation in a statement on Monday, emphasizing its support for the Palestinian people and condemning Israeli aggression.
The attack, carried out using kamikaze drones, was described as a response to the “massacres” committed by Israel against civilians in Gaza, including women, children, and the elderly. The statement underscored that the operation was part of the group’s broader resistance efforts against Israeli occupation forces.
Since the escalation of violence in Gaza on October 7 last year, the Iraqi resistance has intensified its strikes on sensitive Israeli targets. A recent operation on September 4 saw the group targeting a strategic site in the northern port city of Haifa with kamikaze drones.
The ongoing Israeli military campaign in Gaza has claimed the lives of over 41,206 Palestinians, primarily women and children, according to reports. In light of these attacks, the Iraqi resistance vowed to continue intensifying its strikes against Israeli positions.
The group’s statement also highlighted its recent escalation of operations against U.S.-occupied bases in Iraq and Syria, protesting Washington’s military and political support for Israel. Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba, a key faction within the Iraqi resistance, claimed responsibility for a strike on the U.S.-occupied Ain al-Assad Airbase in western Iraq last month, pledging to carry out further operations aimed at surprising its enemies both within and outside Iraqi territory.
As the conflict continues to escalate, the resistance has vowed to maintain pressure on both Israeli and U.S. military positions.
