A SINGER who was electrocuted during a live performance died in a strange on-stage tragedy.
Brazilian rock musician Ayres Sasaki, 35, passed away after receiving an electric shock from a cable while being hugged by a fan who was completely drenched in sweat during a performance.
When the soaked fan approached and gave him a hug, the singer passed away on stage practically immediately.
The performer was instantly electrocuted and died on July 13 in Salinopolis, Brazil, a few seconds later.
It’s still unknown how the sopping fan became wet.
Authorities are looking into the death, but they haven’t disclosed any information.
The singer’s family has been silent about the probe in detail.
Aunt Rita Matos stated to the local press: “We are in contact with those who were present to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his show, which was originally set for a specific time and was bumped up.
“We will gather all the information in a statement that we will release to the press.”
The singer’s passing was regretted by the Solar Hotel, the venue for the show.
According to a statement, “We are totally committed to supporting his family and taking the required actions.
“We reaffirm our commitment to fully cooperating with the competent authorities for the proper clarification of the events.”
Sasaki worked as an architect and urban planner outside of the theatre.
After just 11 months of marriage, he passed away, leaving his wife Mariana to mourn him.
The performer was praised by friends and coworkers as a highly skilled musician who had a great love for music.
Adriano Freitas, a friend and singer, stated to the local press: “We were friends in real life, outside of music.”
“He had amazing talent and was a very charming man.” He was Belem’s finest guitarist and singer.
“A great friend, very family-oriented, attentive to his friendships, and to those who appreciated his work.”
According to Adriano, he is known as the “king of encores” since he once performed nonstop for 12 hours.
Comedian and friend Natto Almeida said: “What will definitely stand out about Sasaki is his good heart, very polite.
“I think this will be the lasting mark he leaves behind.”
