American social media star IShowSpeed has announced plans to visit mountain gorillas in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park as part of his ongoing Africa tour.
The popular YouTuber and Twitch streamer made the announcement after visiting South Africa, where he said his journey across the continent had officially begun. In a video shared on social media, IShowSpeed noted that South Africa does not have mountain gorillas and confirmed that Rwanda is where he plans to see them.
“There are no gorillas here,” he said. “We’ll see the gorillas in Rwanda. I won’t be able to livestream because of the dense forest, but I’ll record videos.”
Africa Tour Attracts Massive Attention
On December 21, 2025, the 20-year-old influencer launched his project titled “Speed Does Africa Tour.” The 28-day tour involves traveling across several African countries while livestreaming and sharing cultural experiences with his millions of followers.
Wherever he visits, large crowds of fans gather to welcome him. His arrival in South Africa drew significant attention, with many fans following his movements both online and in person.
Rwanda Among Several African Destinations
According to posts shared on X, IShowSpeed plans to visit multiple African countries during the tour. These include Algeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Rwanda, among others.
Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park is globally known for its mountain gorillas and is one of the few places in the world where the endangered species can be seen in their natural habitat. Gorilla trekking is one of the country’s leading tourism attractions.
