Job Description
Job Summary
The Senior Accountant for Inventory & Fixed Assets will manage financial records and processes related to inventory and fixed assets in Rwanda. The role involves overseeing monthly reconciliations, audits, and fixed asset tracking, as well as supporting financial controls and external audits. This position reports directly to the Chief Accountant and works closely with the finance and inventory teams to maintain accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate monthly inventory counts with the inventory management team
- Review monthly stock sheets
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations, including goods invoiced not received
- Reconcile fixed assets monthly
- Post fixed asset transactions (purchases, deployments, WIP transactions) in the accounting system
- Maintain charging stations WIP schedule for accurate cost tracking
- Audit consumption of items for swap station construction
- Maintain the fixed asset register
- Ensure proper custody of accounting records and documents
- Assist in financial controls (end of day, end of month) to ensure integrity of data and reconciliations
- Support external audits
- Perform additional projects or tasks assigned by the Finance Manager or CFO
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- CPA/ACA or equivalent (intermediate level of CPA/ACCA also considered)
- Minimum 4 years of experience in financial accounting with increasing responsibility
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS)
- Knowledge of Rwandan financial and tax regulations
- Proficiency in MS Excel and general MS Office skills
- Strong communication skills in Kinyarwanda and English
- Authorized to work in Rwanda
Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in inventory and fixed asset accounting
- Analytical and time management skills
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively at all company levels
- Experience with Xero and Dear Inventory (advantageous but not required)
Good to Have
- CPA/ACCA completed qualification
- Experience in high-growth, entrepreneurial environments
- Knowledge of innovative accounting systems and processes
