Pi Network Unveils 20 Mainnet Apps Ahead of Open Network Launch in 2025

Pi Network, a blockchain platform with a rapidly growing community, has announced the introduction of 20 Mainnet apps in preparation for its Open Network launch set for the first quarter of 2025.

This major update allows Pioneers—Pi Network’s users—to access Mainnet applications via the Ecosystem Interface in the Pi Browser, marking a pivotal step in the platform’s journey toward real-world utility. The newly launched apps enable transactions using real Pi tokens for goods and services, a significant leap from the previously available Testnet apps, which served as a testing ground for developers.

The ecosystem now offers Pioneers the opportunity to engage with decentralized applications (dApps) that demonstrate the practical applications of Pi Network’s blockchain. This milestone underscores Pi Network’s mission to build a robust, decentralized ecosystem powered by its active global community.

Expanding the Ecosystem
The initial rollout features 20 apps, with more expected to be added as developers refine and launch their projects. Pi Network’s team has emphasized the importance of creating a sustainable ecosystem where developers can innovate and bring value to the community. Through the Pi Dev Portal, developers are encouraged to submit their projects for review and potential inclusion in the Ecosystem Interface, broadening their reach to millions of users.

This expansion transforms the Ecosystem Interface, which had primarily functioned as a testing space, into a fully operational hub for real-world blockchain applications. It represents a crucial phase in Pi Network’s roadmap as the platform gears up for the Open Network launch.

Focus on Utility and Caution
The addition of Mainnet apps signifies a major step forward in making Pi cryptocurrency a tangible asset within the decentralized economy. However, Pi Network has urged users to exercise caution when engaging with these apps, as they are independently developed and not officially monitored or endorsed by the platform.

Pioneers and developers are advised to proceed carefully, recognizing that while these apps add substantial value to the ecosystem, users interact with them at their own risk.

Looking Ahead
The inclusion of Mainnet apps is expected to enhance Pi Network’s utility, foster greater adoption, and support the growth of an active developer community. As the Open Network launch approaches, this development is seen as a key move in solidifying Pi Network’s position as a leading player in the blockchain space.

Pioneers can explore the new apps and stay informed about the platform’s roadmap through the Pi app home screen or the Pi Browser.
