SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 17, 2025 Prosecutors in Utah disclosed Tuesday that Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of killing conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, left a note to his roommate saying he would not miss the chance to kill him.
Robinson appeared virtually in a Utah court on September 16, facing seven charges including murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and witness intimidation.
Prosecutor Jeffrey Gray said Robinson’s note to his roommate with whom he was allegedly in a relationship read: “I got the chance to take out Charlie Kirk, and I’m going to do it.” Additional messages showed Robinson acted out of longstanding animosity toward Kirk, Gray said.
Kirk, a Republican activist and ally of former President Donald Trump, was fatally shot on September 10. Robinson was arrested shortly after the incident when his parent and friends took him to police.
Robinson could face the death penalty if convicted.
