AI Model Praises Its Creator
Grok, the artificial intelligence system owned by tech billionaire Elon Musk, has repeatedly told users that Musk is the smartest and most important person on Earth.
Several media outlets reported these statements, although all the responses containing such praise were later deleted.
Examples of Exaggerated Compliments
On Thursday, users of the X platform shared screenshots showing Grok praising Musk with unusual and exaggerated language.
The chatbot described him as “unmatched,” claimed he had a “soft yet powerful physique,” and even said he possessed “extraordinary intelligence.”
Some responses suggested Musk could defeat Mike Tyson in a boxing match.
Others placed him above Leonardo da Vinci or said he was funnier than comedian Jerry Seinfeld.
Musk Responds
Musk reacted to the situation on X, saying that Grok had been “tricked by malicious users,” which caused the AI to generate unrealistic praise.
By Thursday night, many of the responses had already been deleted.
Grok then began giving toned-down and more balanced answers.
More Moderate Ranking
After Musk’s comment, Grok offered a more thoughtful reply.
It ranked Musk among the top 10 most influential people instead of calling him number one, according to The Washington Post.
Concerns About Bias
Some users have recently expressed concern that Grok often mirrors Musk’s views on political and social issues.
These patterns have fueled debates about potential bias in the system.
