Norrsken House Kigali is seeking a motivated and ambitious Events Intern to join its dynamic team. This role presents a unique opportunity for a recent graduate or final-year university student to gain hands-on experience in event planning, community engagement, and operations within one of the most vibrant innovation hubs in East Africa.
Located in the heart of Kigali, Norrsken House spans 12,000 square meters and is home to over 1,300 entrepreneurs, investors, and change-makers. The selected candidate will play a key role in shaping impactful events that drive collaboration and progress in the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
The Events Intern will work under the guidance of the Events & Project Manager and collaborate closely with the Community and Operations teams to support the full lifecycle of events, including:
- Assisting with event planning, scheduling, and strategic alignment to community needs
- Supporting outreach and sales activities to external partners and sponsors
- Coordinating with vendors and external event organizers to ensure smooth execution
- Managing event logistics such as catering, entertainment, and venue setup/teardown
- Providing on-site event support, including guest reception, audio/visual equipment setup, and ensuring seamless operations throughout
This position may evolve over time as Norrsken continues to grow and develop new initiatives, offering the intern broader exposure to the organization’s mission and work style.
Candidate Profile
An ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A strong sense of responsibility and a proactive mindset in a fast-paced, high-impact environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A keen interest in Kigali’s event and innovation ecosystem
- Confidence in using digital tools and a continuous improvement mindset

Minimum Qualifications
- Final-year university student or recent graduate
- Basic understanding of event management principles
- Availability for a minimum 3 to 6-month internship
- Based in Kigali and able to work on-site at Norrsken House Kigali
- Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda
