Netanyahu Seeks Another Term

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s long-serving Prime Minister, announced that he will run again in the parliamentary elections scheduled for November 2026.

In an interview with Channel 14 on Saturday, October 18, 2025, Netanyahu confirmed his candidacy and expressed confidence in victory, saying, “No one else can protect Israel the way I do.”

The Likud party leader previously served as Prime Minister from 1996 to 1999 and again from 2009 to 2021. He returned to office in December 2022 following the collapse of the previous government.

Since 2022, Netanyahu’s administration has been marked by controversial reforms in the judiciary, hostage situations involving Hamas, and the Gaza conflict, events that have both strengthened support among his followers and drawn significant criticism.
