North Korea Unveils Hwasong20, Its Most Powerful Missile Yet

During a grand military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the Workers’ Party, North Korea showcased its most formidable weapon to date the Hwasong-20 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

The missile, described as the most powerful in the country’s arsenal, was presented in a ceremony attended by President Kim Jong Un.

The Friday parade, held in the capital Pyongyang, also featured an array of advanced weaponry, including long-range missiles and combat drones, underscoring the country’s continued military ambitions.

A special highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Hwasong-20, which North Korea’s state news agency KCNA described as

“the most destructive strategic weapon ever developed by the nation.”

The missile was displayed atop an 11-axle transporter erector launcher (TEL), symbolizing its massive scale and mobility.

According to state reports, the Hwasong-20 has a range of up to 15,000 kilometers, meaning it could potentially reach any location within the United States. It is said to generate a thrust of around 200 tons, equivalent to the combined power required to lift 130 vehicles simultaneously a display of North Korea’s growing long-range strike capability.
