Application Steps and Required Documents
What does the application consist of?
The application process helps us identify the ambitious, inventive, and resourceful young people who are ready to make a real difference. It’s a competitive selection, and through your application, we want to understand your potential and how we can support you in making the most of the Fellowship. There are three sections to the application which takes approximately 30-40 minutes to complete.
1. The first section is the written application and requires;
- a) Basic information about yourself and contact information
- b) Your passion and project idea for the environmental challenge you want to tackle
- c) Your learning and financial needs
- d) Self-Assessment Test
- e) A scanned copy of your passport or national ID card
2. The second section is where you record yourself on video;
Via our application platform, you will record a three-minute-long interview about the environmental challenge you are passionate about and your idea to address it. We will not consider applications without a recorded interview video.
3. The final section is an application for Financial Support, which is optional and only for those who request financial assistance to participate in the fellowship. If you choose to apply for financial support, we need to confirm that you are eligible. Therefore, we ask you to provide the following:
- a) Reference Request – We are asking you to provide two reference people who can testify to your living situation. These people must be employed and cannot be family members. You will request the reference electronically by providing the referee’s email address. The referee will then receive a link to submit the reference on your behalf.
- b) Income Declaration –You will need to provide your/your household’s yearly income from 2024 by providing accurate and complete information about your monthly income sources directly in the application form.
Please ensure that you submit your application before the application deadline on January 25th, 2026, at 23:59:59 Central European Time. Please note that we will not consider applications with missing information and recorded interview video, and the evaluation process will commence as soon as you submit your application.
Interview recording process
Please read the below before you get started with your video recording.
Why an interview video?
We want to understand your passion for a specific environmental challenge and the idea you have to address it. This is your opportunity to share your vision for how your idea will evolve and how the beVisioneers Fellowship can support you in this journey. Just be yourself and articulate your ideas clearly.
When to record your video?
Please ensure that you record your video interview before the application deadline on January 25th, 2026, at 23:59:59 Central European Time. Please note that we will not consider applications without a recorded video, and the evaluation process will commence as soon as you submit your video.
Your recording process step by step:
1. Go to the “Interviews” section of your application platform dedicated to the recording of your interview video.
2. Click on “Start the interview”.
3. Set up webcam: confirm that you can see yourself in the camera.
4. Practice recording: make a practice recording to confirm that everything is working perfectly. When you are comfortable, start the recording process. You can then speak for up to 20 seconds and review the footage afterwards. You can do this as many times as you wish, adjusting your microphone or camera setup until you are happy with the result. Practice recordings are never uploaded anywhere and will be discarded immediately after you leave this page.
5. Ready?: Once you have finished practicing, you can record your video on the next page in a similar way as you did for the practice recording. You can start the video when you are comfortable.
6. Record your answer: start recording when you are ready.
Recording starts automatically 120 seconds after you open this page.
7. Review the recording: you will have the possibility to review your recording and try again if you wish to.
You will have 5 attempts maximum to make a successful recording. When you are happy with your recording, you can click Finish.
8. All done! All your answers have been uploaded and the interview process is complete.
After you finish recording your video, you will notice that the Interviews section of the application platform will disappear from your left menu. It means that you have successfully uploaded the interview video and your application is complete.
Please note that candidates who do not record an interview video will not be considered.
Bonus: Tips for your video recording 🙂
Tip 1: Be yourself!
Not a native English speaker? Don’t worry! We are interested in your idea and your motivation above all!
Also, no need for fancy clothes or background for your video. We just want to be able to hear and see you.
Tip 2: Show us why you care
We are looking for applicants who really understand the environmental challenge they’re trying to tackle and why they’re so passionate about it.
Tip 3: Express your idea clearly
Go to the point and share your ideas in an articulate way.
Financial Support
Please read the below before you get started with your financial support application
Who is eligible for Financial Support?
beVisioneers is committed to ensure an accessible and financially inclusive fellowship experience. Active engagement in the fellowship program requires reliable and consistent access to a computer and internet, as well as sufficient time for learning and project development. For this reason, beVisioneers offers financial support for fellows who are economically disadvantaged to overcome logistical and/or financial barriers that may prevent their full participation. The Financial Support is for the initial, 12-month intensive learning program and on a needs assessment basis can continue for part of the second year of your fellowship.
Our definition of being economically disadvantaged is based on the World Bank’s Poverty and Inequality Platform (PIP), which groups countries into four income categories and sets poverty lines accordingly.
You are considered economically disadvantaged if your income is under the median income in your country or, if the median is below the poverty line according to PIP.
You are eligible for Financial Support if you are economically disadvantaged and if you have successfully completed the application for such.
What are the requirements for a complete Financial Support application?
To ensure your financial support application is complete, please make sure to include the following set of information:
You will need to provide your/your household’s yearly income from 2024 by providing accurate and complete information about your monthly income sources directly in the application form.
You will also have to indicate your household’s income and the number of people in your household. For example: if you live with your parents or spouse, and you share your income, please indicate the number of people and the shared income (i.e., also from your parents or spouse). If you live alone or in a shared flat, please indicate only your personal income and you as one person in the household.
If you anticipate a reduction of income as a result of your participation in the fellowship, please also inform us of the estimated reduction.
Furthermore we are asking you to provide two reference people who can testify to your living situation. These people must be employed and cannot be family members. You will request the reference electronically by providing the referee’s email address. The referee will then receive a link to submit the reference on your behalf. Please note that those people cannot be unemployed or family members.
What are the financial support options?
If you successfully applied for Financial Support and have been admitted to the fellowship program, you will receive a monetary monthly financial support transferred to your bank account. For the first year of the program, the Financial Support for Living Cost covers 24h worth of basic income per month for the duration of 12 months (based on Germany’s basic income, purchasing power adjusted to your country of residence). It furthermore includes basic local transportation costs so you can partake in the in-person meet-ups.
Next to this you can also apply for the Financial Support for Online Access, which on the one hand can support you with Internet access and on the other hand with technical equipment. Since most of the fellowship program is taking place virtually, we want to ensure you have all means to participate online. With access to this Financial Support you will receive additional funds so you can purchase internet data, cables, electricity, a laptop or repairs. Please be aware that you are required to upload receipts of purchase to prove the usage of funds.
You can either only receive Financial Support Living Cost or you can additionally receive Financial Support Online Access, which covers Internet access and/or technical equipment support.
All Financial Support amounts are adjusted to your country of residence’s purchasing power.
What’s next?
If you have been accepted into the fellowship program, you meet the criteria for being economically disadvantaged, and you have submitted a complete financial support application, you are eligible for Financial Support. You will then be asked to sign an additional contract besides the fellowship contract. If you are under 18 years old, your legal guardian will have to countersign. You are then asked to submit your bank details, so we can issue the transactions. Once you receive your monthly payments, we will ask you to provide proof of usage of funds by uploading receipts for the Online Access Financial Support.
