Russia’s state nuclear energy agency, Rosenergoatom, reported that Ukrainian drones attempted to attack the Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant in Russia.

The incident occurred on the night of October 6, 2025, in the Voronezh region of Russia.

According to officials, the drone struck a machine room at the Novovoronezh facility but caused no damage or injuries. Operations at the plant continued normally, although traces of the drone’s impact were visible.

Rosenergoatom described the attack as an act of provocation against Russia, noting that it followed similar attempted strikes on the Kursk and Smolensk nuclear power plants.

President Vladimir Putin condemned the assault, accusing Ukraine of “playing with fire” by targeting Russia’s nuclear infrastructure. He also warned that Ukraine itself has operational power facilities that could become vulnerable.
