Zelensky Rejects Ceasefire That Costs Ukrainian Territory

Ukraine’s president has sent a clear message of resistance. He says Ukraine is not losing the war and will eventually win. He spoke during a meeting at the government headquarters in Kyiv.

The president strongly opposes a ceasefire that would force Ukraine to give up land. Russian forces failed to capture this territory despite heavy losses. He believes surrendering land would reward aggression.

Russia demands that Ukraine hand over parts of Donetsk and more land in the south. Ukraine calls these areas “fortress cities.”

The president says this demand is not only about land. It would mean abandoning hundreds of thousands of citizens. He also warns that such a move would divide Ukrainian society.

Ceasefire Would Only Delay More War

The president doubts that giving up land would stop Russia. He believes it would only give Moscow time to rebuild its army.

According to him, Russia could restart the war within a few years. He says the threat would not stop with Ukraine and could spread further into Europe.

Despite this, he appears calm and determined. He once worked as an entertainer and actor. Today, he carries the full weight of wartime leadership.

Pressure from the United States

The U.S. president has urged Ukraine to negotiate quickly. He has placed more pressure on Kyiv than on Moscow.

Some Western diplomats believe territorial concessions are key to a ceasefire. Several analysts also claim Ukraine cannot win without compromise.

The president rejects the idea that Ukraine is losing. He points out that Kyiv remains free and functioning.

He says Ukraine fights for independence. As long as that continues, defeat is not an option.

Victory means ending the killing and restoring normal life. It also means protecting Ukraine’s independence.

The president believes all Ukrainian land will return one day. He admits that reclaiming everything now would cost too many lives. Ukraine also lacks enough weapons at present.

Ukraine postponed elections due to martial law. The president says elections are possible but only with strong security guarantees.

Millions of Ukrainians live abroad, and parts of the country remain occupied. He insists that any election must be fair and widely accepted.
