China’s main economic planning agency has urged humanoid robot companies to stop producing too many similar products. The agency warned that when many companies create nearly identical robots, it reduces room for real innovation and slows down progress in research and development.
Li Chao, the spokesperson for the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), said that China already has over 150 humanoid robot companies, and fast growth can sometimes create market “bubbles” that must be managed carefully.
He also said that the NDRC is working to expand the use of REITs to help fund projects such as city renewal facilities, hotels, sports centers, and office buildings.
