Job Description

Role Summary

The Specialist, Risk and Fraud Mitigation will assess, monitor, and manage risks that impact the company. This includes evaluating inherent and residual risks, identifying emerging threats, reviewing controls, and providing actionable recommendations. The role supports the design, enhancement, and execution of risk mitigation strategies in alignment with the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework, regulatory requirements, and company risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and review enterprise-wide risk management policies to proactively address operational, strategic, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks.
  • Enhance the risk reporting and monitoring framework, aligning with international standards (COSO ERM, ISO 31000).
  • Provide risk analytics and insights to align risk strategy with organizational objectives.
  • Maintain comprehensive risk registers, track key risk indicators (KRIs), and integrate emerging risks.
  • Ensure accurate and timely risk reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor and improve risk management policies, governance frameworks, and compliance with changing international standards (e.g., IFRS).
  • Promote a risk-aware culture across the organization through training and communication.
  • Support the design and deployment of ERM and Governance, Risk, and Compliance systems for effective risk visibility and reporting.
  • Oversee trust account governance, ensuring compliance with financial integrity standards.
  • Organize risk review meetings, lead enterprise-wide training, and build capacity among risk champions.
  • Evaluate and improve risk controls in collaboration with business units.
  • Standardize risk processes across departments for efficiency and consistency.
  • Advise on risk implications for complex financial products, emerging technologies, and operational changes.
  • Provide timely risk dashboards and reports to management for informed decision-making.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned in alignment with risk management frameworks and company objectives.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Statistics, IT, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications preferred: Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional, ISO 31000 Risk Manager, Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Financial Risk Manager (FRM).

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial risk analysis, credit risk analysis, or financial risk management.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a nontraditional FinTech environment.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce and electronic payment systems is advantageous.
  • Understanding of international risk management and business continuity standards.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk frameworks (COSO ERM, ISO 31000).
  • Ability to design and implement risk reporting systems.
  • Familiarity with IFRS and regulatory compliance.
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging stakeholders and regulators.
  • Strong organizational and governance capabilities.
