Job Description
Job Summary
The Senior Accountant Receivables at Ampersand will manage and maintain the company’s financial records related to receivables in Rwanda. This includes reconciliations, projections, payroll journal posting, and supporting audits. The position requires working closely with the Chief Accountant to ensure accurate reporting, timely follow-ups, and integrity in financial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Review receivables aging reports monthly
- Reconcile rent-to-own and other loans (Loandisk, Amperops to Xero)
- Follow up on receivables and create financial projections
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Post payroll journals and invoices (revenue, partner garages, insurance)
- Maintain and monitor company credit cards, post related transactions to Xero
- Serve as the main contact for banks
- Handle Momo account liquidations to bank
- Maintain proper records and custody of receivables documentation
- Support financial control processes (end-of-day/month procedures)
- Assist with external audits
- Carry out tasks or projects as assigned by the Finance Manager or CFO
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- CPA/ACCA qualification (full or intermediate level accepted)
Experience
- Minimum 4 years in financial accounting roles with progressive responsibility
- Familiarity with accounting standards like IFRS
- Strong understanding of local tax and financial regulations
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
- Knowledge of Xero and Dear Inventory is a plus (not mandatory)
Language
- Professional fluency in Kinyarwanda and English
