Geoffrey Hinton, widely known as the “Godfather of AI,” stated that current methods humans use to control artificial intelligence may become ineffective once this technology surpasses human intelligence in the near future.
At the Ai4 conference in Las Vegas, the Nobel Prize-winning scientist explained that trying to treat AI solely as a tool to be commanded will eventually fail, because there will come a time when humans no longer have control over it.
Hinton proposed a unique idea: instead of building AI programs that humans simply command and expect to obey, they should be designed with the ability to respect human beings, because without this, humans might eventually lose control over them.
Fei-Fei Li, another prominent figure in technology, emphasized that AI should be human-centered, built with respect for human value and rights.
Emmett Shear, former interim CEO of OpenAI, added that undesirable AI behaviors are already emerging, and the best approach is to establish frameworks for human-AI interaction rather than attempting to teach AI “human values.”

What a great resource. I’ll be referring back to this often.
I feel more confident tackling this now, thanks to you.
Your breakdown of the topic is so well thought out.
This was easy to follow, even for someone new like me.
I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, but this turned out to be surprisingly useful. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

Excellent work! Looking forward to future posts.
You explained it in such a relatable way. Well done!
This was very well laid out and easy to follow.
What I really liked is how easy this was to follow. Even for someone who’s not super tech-savvy, it made perfect sense.
