President Vladimir Putin has told European leaders who constantly express fears of a possible Russian invasion to calm down, “go to bed and sleep.”

He made the remarks on Thursday, October 2, 2025, in Sochi, Russia.

Since the war in Ukraine began, some European leaders have repeatedly warned that unless Putin is stopped, he might expand the conflict and attack their countries.

Putin dismissed these concerns as baseless. He stressed that leaders who genuinely believe such claims are unfit to govern, while those who knowingly spread them are “hypocrites” trying to cause panic.

He said: “What I really want to tell them is: relax, sleep well, and focus on solving your own problems.”

Countries that have often voiced such fears include Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
