Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has accused Ukraine of dragging its feet in efforts to end the war with Russia, claiming the country lacks the willingness to continue negotiations.
He said that during the most recent talks between the two sides held in Istanbul, Turkey, the Ukrainian delegation behaved poorly.
“At the Istanbul meeting, our side proposed the creation of small groups to discuss all aspects of the conflict. Ukraine showed very little interest. The reason is that they do not want to continue the talks,” Peskov stated.
Peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine began earlier this year, with three rounds of talks held the latest in July. However, none yielded tangible results, and since then the war has intensified, with Ukraine stepping up strikes inside Russian territory.
