Opening Match in Mexico
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will begin on June 11 with a match between Mexico national football team and South Africa national football team.
The game will take place at Azteca Stadium, which will temporarily be called Mexico City Stadium during the tournament.
Performances Across Host Countries
FIFA confirmed that the Mexico City ceremony will feature Latin American artists including J Balvin, Maná, Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Lila Downs, and Los Ángeles Azules.
In Canada, artists scheduled to perform include Alanis Morissette, Michael Bublé, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, and Nora Fatehi. Canada will host a match between Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 12 in Toronto.
In Los Angeles, the United States opening celebrations will include performances by Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, Lisa, Rema and Tyla.
