UK Royal Under Investigation Over Alleged Links to Jeffrey Epstein Files

British authorities have confirmed that Prince Andrew, the brother of King Charles III, is under preliminary police review following allegations that he may have shared confidential UK trade documents with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The development comes after the release of more than three million documents in late January 2026, linked to civil cases involving Epstein, who was accused of running an international child sex trafficking network.

Royal Family Pledges Cooperation With Police

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said the royal household is prepared to cooperate fully with law enforcement should the investigation proceed.

“If Thames Valley Police request our assistance, we will provide it as required,” the palace said, adding that the royal family remains “deeply sympathetic to all victims of abuse.”

Prince Andrew, formally known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was stripped of royal duties and patronages in previous years due to his association with Epstein.

Allegations Involve Confidential Trade Information

According to newly released court documents, Prince Andrew allegedly shared sensitive UK trade reports in 2010 with Epstein while traveling on official business.

The documents reportedly included information related to Vietnam, Singapore, and other countries, raising concerns about breaches of confidentiality and national trade protocols.

Reuters reported that officials responsible for promoting UK international trade are strictly prohibited from disclosing internal reports to unauthorized individuals.

Police Assess Whether to Open Formal Investigation

Thames Valley Police confirmed that a complaint related to Prince Andrew has been received and is currently under review to determine whether it meets the threshold for a formal criminal investigation.

Prince Andrew has previously denied all wrongdoing, insisting that he acted appropriately during his time as a working royal.

Sources confirmed that Prince William and Princess Kate are deeply concerned about the continued release of Epstein-related documents and the reputational impact on the monarchy.
