WhatsApp is reportedly developing a new feature that will let users have conversations with Meta AI.  The feature was spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android, version 2.25.10.9. However, beta testers do not yet have access to it.

According to WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, the upcoming feature will present users with a range of suggested conversation topics across categories such as education, humour, and custom conversational styles. Screenshots shared by the tracker reveal a redesigned Meta AI interface, where a Meta AI logo will appear at the top of the chat, followed by a list of selectable topics to initiate conversations.

The new feature is expected to work alongside another rumoured update, two-way voice chat with Meta AI. This integration would allow users to start voice-based conversations with the AI after selecting a topic, adding a more interactive dynamic to the experience. For example, a “Talk like a…” category could offer different communication styles, while a “Learn” section might facilitate educational interactions. Users will also have the flexibility to switch back to text chat at any time.

WABetaInfo notes that the suggested topics will be updated regularly. They will be taking cues from global trends and other relevant data. There will be no access to or analysis of individual chat histories to protect user privacy. The topics will be general and not personalized to specific users.
