ChatGPT to Introduce Adult-Oriented Erotic Content

The management of OpenAI, which oversees ChatGPT, announced plans to introduce content designed to elicit sexual arousal in adults, aiming to fill a service gap for mature users.

This content, referred to as “Erotica”, may include photos, videos, films, illustrations, or music, intended to stimulate emotions in viewers in ways that may trigger sexual desire.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, on October 14, 2025, stated that the company wants to treat adult ChatGPT users as mature individuals, without restricting what they wish to access.

Altman explained that OpenAI previously limited certain content to avoid negatively affecting the mental health of some users, but it became clear that adults without mental health issues were missing out on this aspect of the platform.

He said: “We found that not offering this content made the platform less useful and less enjoyable for adult users without mental health concerns. Given the significance of this issue, we want to provide it responsibly.”

For ChatGPT users with serious mental health concerns, Altman clarified that this content will not be accessible, as OpenAI has implemented safeguards to protect them.

The erotic content is expected to become available on ChatGPT in December 2025, with age verification measures requiring users to be 18 or older, ensuring child safety.
