The City of Kigali has announced eight locations where fireworks will be displayed to mark the end of 2025 and welcome the New Year 2026.
In a public notice released on the evening of December 30, 2025, city authorities confirmed that fireworks will be launched at both public and private venues across the capital.
Public Fireworks Locations
According to the statement, fireworks will be displayed at four public locations within the City of Kigali. These include Kigali City Hall, Kigali Pelé Stadium, Canal Olympia, and Kigali Heights.
Residents are encouraged to gather responsibly at these designated areas to enjoy the celebrations in a safe environment.
Private Venues Hosting Fireworks
Fireworks will also be launched at four private locations. These are Hôtel des Mille Collines, Atelier du Vin, Serena Hotels, and KCC Parkings.
The City of Kigali clarified that fireworks at private locations will be organized by individual establishments in line with safety guidelines.
Fireworks Scheduled at Midnight
All fireworks displays are scheduled to begin at midnight on the night of December 31, 2025, marking the transition into January 1, 2026.
City officials said the fireworks are expected to last between 10 and 19 minutes.
“This is a planned and safe activity to mark the end of the year and the beginning of the next one,” the statement reads.
Public Safety Reminder
The City of Kigali urged residents and visitors to celebrate responsibly. Authorities reminded the public to avoid excessive alcohol consumption and strictly prohibited serving alcohol to anyone under the age of 18.
Officials also wished residents a safe and joyful festive season as the country enters the New Year.
