Apple has introduced the MacBook Neo, a new budget-friendly laptop priced at just $599, making it one of the company’s most affordable modern MacBooks.

The device is designed to replace the older M1 MacBook Air models and aims to make Apple laptops more accessible, especially for students and first-time users.

A Budget MacBook Built for Everyday Use

The MacBook Neo is powered by Apple Silicon, similar to the chips used in iPhones. This allows it to deliver solid performance while maintaining energy efficiency.

Weighing around 1.22 kg, the laptop is lightweight and portable. Its battery is designed to last an entire day on a single charge, making it ideal for school, work, or travel.

Design and Audio Features

Apple has equipped the MacBook Neo with dual speakers on both sides, providing clear and balanced sound.

However, some early users noted that the device lacks the deeper bass typically found in higher-end MacBook models.

Camera and Video Capabilities

The laptop includes a 1080p webcam, capable of delivering clear video even in low-light environments.

However, it does not include the “Center Stage” auto-framing feature, which keeps users centered during video calls a feature available in more expensive Apple devices.

Keyboard and Trackpad Differences

Unlike premium MacBooks, the Neo comes with:
