Newly released documents have surfaced alleging that former U.S. President Joe Biden ordered the CIA to suppress a report detailing corruption claims involving his family’s business dealings in Ukraine during his tenure as Vice President in 2015.
The report, made public on October 7, 2025, by CIA Director John Ratcliffe, contains evidence including an email dated February 10, 2016, sent to the agency’s headquarters.
The message reportedly stated:
“Good morning, I spoke with the Vice President and the National Security Advisor they both prefer that this report not be released. Thank you for understanding.”
According to the report, several Ukrainian officials under then-President Pyotr Poroshenko expressed frustration over Biden’s visit to Kyiv in December 2015.
Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, who served on the board of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company, is accused of engaging in corrupt financial activities during that period while his father was in office.
President Joe Biden has previously acknowledged pressuring the Ukrainian government to fire its prosecutor general in 2016 who happened to be investigating Burisma but denied any personal wrongdoing or knowledge of his son’s alleged misconduct.
In December last year, Biden granted his son a presidential pardon, shielding him from prosecution for offenses committed between 2014 and 2024, a move that critics say contradicts his campaign promises of transparency and accountability.
Corruption in Ukraine has long been a concern for U.S. officials, who fear that widespread graft could compromise billions of dollars in international aid provided to the country.
