An opportunities for Rwandan youth aged 18-25

ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO JOIN THE RWANDA DEFENCE FORCES

The Headquarters of the Rwanda Defence Forces informs all Rwandans who wish to join the RDF, either as junior soldiers or members of the Reserve Force, that registration at the district and sector levels will begin on June 21 and end on July 20, 2025. Those who do not have the opportunity to register may still come on the examination day.

Requirements for those registering as junior soldiers:

• Must be a Rwandan citizen.
• Must be in good health.
• Must have completed at least three years of secondary school (S3).
• Must be between 18 and 25 years old.
• Must not have been convicted of any crime.
• Must not appear on the list of individuals dismissed from government service.
• Must have good morals and behavior.
• Must have a willingness to join the Rwanda Defence Forces.
• Must pass the required examinations.

Requirements for those registering for the Reserve Force:

• Must be a Rwandan citizen.
• Must be in good health.
• Must not have been convicted of any crime.
• Must not appear on the list of individuals dismissed from government service.
• Must have good morals and behavior.
• Must have a willingness to join the Rwanda Defence Forces.
• Must pass the required examinations.
• Secondary school graduates must be between 18 and 25 years old.
• University graduates (A0) or graduates of vocational schools (IPRC) must not be older than 26 years.
• Those with specialized skills in medical fields (Medicine), engineering, or law must not be older than 27 years.

Required documents:

• National ID card.
• Certificate of completion of six years of secondary education (A level Certificate).
• Certificate of good conduct and behavior issued by the sector administration.
• Criminal record clearance certificate.

Selection exams:

Selection exams will be conducted from July 21 to August 5, 2025, at 8:00 AM in designated districts nationwide. More details regarding exam dates and venues will be available on the Ministry of Defence website: www.mod.gov.rw.
