Connekyt Brings Digital Solutions to Rwanda’s Photography Industry

Connekyt Platform

A growing number of people organizing weddings, concerts, and private events often struggle to find trusted photographers and videographers. At the same time, many photographers face payment disputes or fail to reach enough clients despite having strong portfolios.

To address these challenges, Amoria Connekyt launched a digital platform called Connekyt, a service designed to connect photographers, clients, and event coordinators through technology.

The platform aims to simplify how photography services are booked in Rwanda while helping photographers build professional visibility online. Users can create profiles, upload portfolios, and interact directly with potential clients.

How the Platform Works

Photographers who join Connekyt can upload samples of their work so clients can review their style and experience before making hiring decisions. Event organizers and individuals planning ceremonies can browse profiles and contact photographers that match their needs.

According to Hamis Sango, a coordinator at Amoria Connekyt, the platform was created to solve long-standing problems in the photography sector.

He explained that many photographers previously struggled to connect with clients, while clients often found it difficult to identify reliable professionals for important events.

The platform also includes a digital marketplace where photographers can upload photos for sale. When users purchase images from the platform, photographers receive 70% of the payment while Amoria Connekyt keeps 30%.

Supporting Rwanda’s Digital Transformation

Connekyt reflects Rwanda’s broader push toward digital services and technology-driven business models. The company believes digital tools can improve professionalism in creative industries and open opportunities for local talent to reach international audiences.

The platform currently hosts 174 registered users, including 126 active professionals available for immediate work opportunities.

Beyond photography bookings, Connekyt also offers livestreaming services for concerts and major events. The company has already participated in large entertainment productions, including performances involving artists such as Ben and Chance, as well as Jules Sentore’s “Umudende” album launch.

Challenges Facing Adoption

Despite its growth, the company says many photographers still hesitate to adopt digital platforms. Some professionals continue to rely on traditional client relationships instead of online systems.

Hamis Sango encouraged photographers to embrace digital tools in order to remain competitive in a rapidly changing industry.

He noted that Connekyt gives photographers access not only to clients in Rwanda but also to international customers searching for creative services online.

Future Outlook for Digital Creative Platforms

The rise of platforms like Connekyt highlights how technology continues to reshape creative industries across Africa. Digital marketplaces can improve transparency, simplify payments, and help independent creators build sustainable businesses.

As internet access and digital payments continue to expand, platforms focused on creative services may become increasingly important in connecting professionals with wider markets.
